BMW has released a futuristic car called the BMW i Vision Dee which has a personality that many associate with the animated film Cars.
BMW has launched a futuristic concept car called the BMW i Vision Dee which has a digital interpretation to show different facial expressions. Some people think it was inspired by the animated film Cars.
At the Consumer Electronics Show or CES 2023 in Las Vegas, BMW made a surprise appearance bringing a futuristic concept car called the BMW i Vision Dee.
Throw gizmochina.com, Friday (6/1/2022), “Dee” itself is an acronym for Digital Emotional Experience, which means that it can give the car the impression of a human personality. The BMW i Vision Dee is designed to have self-awareness and the ability to communicate with its occupants.
It can change color
Not only does it have an emotional nature, but this vehicle is said to be able to change color with external e-ink technology, which allows it to change up to 32 colors. However, this is nothing new for BMW as at last year’s CES, the company had revealed the iX Flow with the same capabilities.
Interestingly, the car has a digital interpretation that can display different facial expressions depending on human nature. These expressions can include looks of amazement, visual approval, and more. What is the highlight of this machine is its very human virtual assistant, or can be called “Dee”.
Unlike other digital assistants like Alexa or Siri, the BMW i Vision Dee is a rather cheeky and playful assistant with personality. This is meant to form a better and closer relationship between man and machine.
“With the BMW i Vision Dee, the company is showing how a car can be seamlessly integrated into your digital life and become a good and reliable companion,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group Head of Design.
Meanwhile, the BMW Group globally is said to have sold 2.1 million vehicles in 2022, down by around 100,000 vehicles from a year earlier. Despite declining auto sales globally, BMW doubled its electric car sales year-over-year. It contributes nearly 10 percent of total sales.
