ROCKMOTIVE, Jakarta – Honda managed to beat the new record of the Civic Type R at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, setting the best time of 2 minutes and 23.120 seconds.
This achievement was also previously recorded by the previous generation at Nurburgring circuit, Germany in 2017. Moreover, this model also managed to record fastest FWD car at Suzuka circuit, Japan in 2022 with record time of 2 minutes and 23.120 seconds.
This new record-breaking Civic Type R is the most violent model the manufacturer has ever produced. After being first launched in Japan in September 2022, this model immediately attracted great enthusiasm from fans around the world.
At the end of March 2023, sports car it was launched in Indonesia with an aggressive design and the engine with the most power. This is the fastest model ever made by Honda. The design was developed with the Ultimate SPORT 2.0 concept which pursues the performance of a racing car and an enjoyable driving experience.
The record-breaking success for the latest generation Civic Type R is supported by the specification of the 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo engine capable of delivering a maximum power of 319PS and maximum torque of 420Nm.
Hideki Kakinuma as Honda Civic Type R Development Leader said: “In 2023, we accomplished our mission as we did six years ago, which is to set the record for the fastest lap for an FWD sports car on the Nurburgring circuit in Germany and managed to set another fastest lap record on the Nurburgring. We hope that our customers and even our potential customers will enjoy the Civic Type R with pride.”
