Citroen C3 will reportedly enter the Indonesian market to compete with the Renault and Peugeot brands.
Autos.id – According to reports, PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (Indomobil Group) will present Citroen cars in the Indonesian market. Meanwhile, what is being presented is the Citroen C3 to compete in the compact SUV segment with Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky and others.
It was previously known that the Citroen C3 was first launched in July for the Indian market, where the price converted to Indonesian currency is around 100 million rupees – 150 million rupees.
Meanwhile, if you look at the specifications, the Citroen C3 has two engine variants, namely 1,200cc turbo and 1,200cc three-cylinder naturally aspirated (NA).
With a displacement of 1,200 cc naturally aspirated (NA), the power generated reaches 82 hp or 80.8 tk and a maximum torque of 115 Nm. While the displacement of 1,200 cc turbo has a great power up to 108 tk and a torque of 190 Nm.
Mentioned by the official Citroen India website, the Citroen C3 is quite efficient in terms of fuel consumption, with 19.8 kpl for 1,200 Na and 19.4 for the turbo version.
But the disadvantage of this car is the unavailability of an automatic gearbox. However, the Citroen C3 could be a direct competitor of Suzuki Ignis, Baleno, Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, Hyundai i20 and Renault Kiger in the Indian market.
Seeing the cheap SUV market in Indonesia is quite tempting, along with ASEAN-India Free Trade Area (AIFTA) ties, the Citroen C3 is very likely to be present in Indonesia. However, for the price, it doesn’t feel as cheap as in India.
