Usually, damage to hybrid batteries occurs in the battery cells. For example, the Toyota Camry Hybrid has 34 battery cells which, when scanned using a scanner, can be grouped into 17 blocks (1 block consists of 2 cells). While this problem can be fixed using a scanner, it will likely reappear in the not too distant future.

If there is a battery cell that has a problem, the hybrid indicator will light up. If the cause is the hybrid battery, it is caused by the computer detecting a significant difference in the blocking voltage (greater than 1 volt).
