Subaru Crosstrek of new generation, new name for Subaru XV

The Crosstrek itself is a new name given by Subaru to replace the XV name, although in terms of model and base it still has the same correlation with the previous generation.

autos.id – At the GIIAS 2022 event, Subaru Indonesia officially sold its flagship crossover, the XV. But the Subaru XV, which has just been sold in Indonesia, is a renewed version of the second generation already on the global market in 2020. Abroad, the Subaru XV has just arrived with a third generation that has received very significant modifications.

Even the name XV itself was renamed Crosstrek even if for base and model it is still a continuation of the XV.

Here’s what it looks like

As reported by Autoexpress.co.id on Friday (9/16/2022), it looks very different from the second generation XV. However, the third generation Subaru Crosstrek or XV still retains a shape that is basically still similar to the second generation XV.

Starting with the much narrower headlights with LED light clusters complete with DRL lines at the top of the light clusters. Then the grille of this car is also made different by the presence of a longitudinal line above that connects to the DRL lights on the headlight assembly. And don’t miss the new bumper model and the new, more muscular housing model of the fog lights.

Continuing to move to the side, the silhouette is still similar to the second generation XV. But some parts like the window line that has changed, notably behind the C-pillar, the use of a new roof rail design and above the fenders with a more robust design. And the tire area is wider with the use of 18-inch dual-tone new fan model.

Significant changes also apply to the rear of this car. Starting with using the new taillight design with the letter C pattern inside. As well as the LED rear lights which have also changed and look quite modern and sturdy. And this car’s bumper has also changed with the presence of a black bottom cover that covers the cat’s eye lamp housing on the left and right bottom of the car’s bumper.

Continuing inside, this third generation Subaru Crosstrek or XV comes with no less drastic changes. One of them that stole attention was the floating main unit which was made to tower. With the use of such a main unit, the automatic AC settings are also transferred to the main unit.

For the dashboard itself, Subaru still retains an analog speedometer and tachometer with a digital MID that is still similar to the second generation XV. Also, since it uses a floating head unit, the AC grille in the center of the dashboard is moved to the left and right of the Haed unit. In addition to the accelerator and brake pedals, aluminum pedals were also used.

Speaking of the engine, the third generation Subaru Crosstrek or XV is equipped with a Hybrid e-Boxer engine with a displacement of 2,000 cc, 4 cylinders. However, the power and torque produced were not disclosed by Subaru. But the transmission used is still CVT type while retaining its trademark All-Wheel Drive.

For the safety features themselves, this third generation Subaru Crosstrek or XV is equipped with the EyeSight radar function. Besides several features like 360 ​​degree camera, LED cornering light, wide angle camera, electronic parking brake complete with Auto Hold are still maintained. And this car is still equipped with drive mode and drive mode for the AWD drive system in this car.

This car is present for the first time in Japan and will only go on sale in early 2023. It is not yet known whether the Subaru Crosstrek or the latest generation of XV will be brought to Indonesia or not. But with the seriousness of Plaza Subaru as a Subaru ATPM in Indonesia, it is not impossible that the third generation Crosstrek or XV will be immediately brought to the domestic market.
