One of the electric motors receiving grants from the Indonesian government requires a certain amount of energy to charge.
Autos.id – A number of electric motorcycles will receive a subsidy of IDR 7 million from the government. Not all electric motors use an exchange system however, some can be loaded at various points to some horsepower.
The battery system used by electric motorcycles in Indonesia is still diverse. Some use an exchange system, while others can be charged anywhere as long as there is access to electricity. If the swap system is used, the driver only needs to swap the battery at an available location without having to wait for a long time.
Battery replacement using the swap system can be done in 9 seconds, according to existing claims. While the cost of using this system is listed on the Swap Indonesia page where users pay Rp. 20,000 for a share of 100 km, Rp. 45,000 for a distance of 250 km and Rp. 80,000 for a distance of 500 km.
Several electric motorcycle brands receiving grants of IDR 7 million in Indonesia, such as Volta and Smoot, have implemented this trading system.
United more flexible?
On the other hand, electric motors such as Gesits, Selis and Polytron use the usual home charging system. Meanwhile, United’s electric motorbike is more flexible because it can use the usual swap and recharge system.
Charging at home is also easy, because the cable only needs to be plugged into a wall socket like for charging other electronic devices. However, minimal power is required to load the electric motor.
For example, the Gesits electric motor can be recharged at home with a minimum electrical output of 900 Watts. In addition to Gesits, United’s electric motorcycles can also be recharged directly. However, the minimum electrical power required is greater than that to load the Gesits electric motor.
Based on the information on its official website, United said the charging process can be done in two ways, namely Swap Battery or Direct Charging.
For direct charging, users only need to connect an electrical outlet to a power source with a minimum output of 1,300 Watts.
However, the purchase of subsidized electric motorcycles cannot be done by everyone. According to article 3 of the regulation of the Minister of Industry number 6 of 2023, there are four conditions that must be met by the public in order to purchase subsidized electric motorcycles.
These eligibility are registered as recipients of KUR (People’s Business Credit), recipients of Micro Business Productive Assistance (BUPM), recipients of wage subsidy and recipients of electric power subsidies up to 900 VA.
