Toyota makes sure it won’t add other GR car models

Currently, there are 4 Toyota GR models sold on the market, namely GR86, GR Yaris, GR Corolla and GR Supra. And after that Toyota won’t be adding any more GR-frills models on its new automotive products.

Focus on environmentally friendly electrified cars like Hybrid and Hydrogen, which is why Toyota won’t be adding GR to its model range.

Although the GR series model will not be added again, Suezawa said there are still Toyota products that are assigned the GR Sport appendix. “We will continue to expand the GR Sport model variant into Toyota’s core products, focusing on the look that resembles the real GR,” added Suezawa.

For those of you who don’t know, the GR Sport will basically not provide additional performance like the real GR. In Indonesia itself, several Toyota products also get the GR Sport variant, including Raize, Rush, Yaris, Agya, a Fortuner which has received a bodykit from GR Sport which makes it look similar to the real GR.

Although Toyota won’t add GR to its model, some rumors suggest Toyota is developing a high-performance electrified car. The high-performance electrified cars will reportedly have power and performance that can be compared to GR’s high-performance cars.

In addition, this high-performance car with Toyota’s electrification technology will later receive support in conjunction with Mazda. So it could be that in the future there will be twin products between Toyota and Mazda with high-performance cars with electrification technology.
