Autos.id – Since its appearance in the middle of this year, the Hyundai Stargazer has become a synonym among Indonesian motoring enthusiasts. Entering the LMPV class, known for being quite strict, this car managed to impress the public and its sales are also quite satisfactory. After launching in Indonesia, the Hyundai Stargazer looks like it will soon be waving goodbye to the Philippines.
The Hyundai Stargazer sold in the Philippines is also an assembly from the Hyundai Indonesia plant in Cikarang, West Java.
Rumors of a Hyundai Stargazer in the Philippines
Reported by automotive industry On Friday (7/9/2022), one of the country’s netizens, Kiko Reico Bautista photographed the appearance of the Hyundai Stargazer in the Philippines. In the image shared by Bautista, an expedition truck is seen carrying several Hyundai Stargazer units indicating that this LMPV will be arriving in the country soon.
From this photo, it is not known which variant of the Stargazer is being transported by the expedition truck. But at first glance, the Stargazer captured by the camera is the taller variant, namely the Prime variant. This can be seen from the use of the wheels double toneas well as some silver accents on the bumper reminiscent of the Prime variant in Indonesia.
There is no information on when the official launch will take place along with the variants that will be presented as well as the machines and features that will be obtained. However, the Filipino version of the Hyundai Stargazer is expected not to be much different from those sold in Indonesia. One of these is the use of a 1500cc, Smartstream engine with 115hp and 144Nm of torque with a choice of CVT or IVT automatic and 6-speed manual transmission.
In addition, the equipment options or variants presented will also not differ much from those in Indonesia. Reflecting on the Hyundai Creta sold in the Philippines, the engine used is also exactly the same as the Indonesian one, including several choices of variants and integrated features. For information, the Hyundai Creta sold in the Philippines is also an assembly of Hyundai Indonesia.
The presence of the Hyundai Stargazer in the Philippines will increase competition in the LMPV segment in the country. As is known, most of the Hyundai Stargazer’s rivals in the country, such as Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, up to the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, are also CBU groups from Indonesia.
